I can’t imagine an 11 year old little boy taking a shotgun and killing a woman that is 8 month pregnant with his half brother or sister because of jealousy?  When I heard and read about this story, it literally brought me to tears.  My father left our family for a younger woman and had two more children with her and hasn’t supported us at all but still, I wish her no harm or the children they have.

I can’t see my younger brother doing anything like that either so how could this boy do something like that?  It’s just unimaginable to me.  Here’s some of the story:

Fifth-grader Jordan Brown boarded the bus and headed to school like he did most other mornings in this rural western Pennsylvania community. But before he left home on Friday, authorities say, the 11-year-old boy had shot his father’s pregnant fiancee in the back of the head as she lay in bed. He then put his youth model 20-gauge shotgun back in his room before going out to catch his bus, police say.

Brown was charged Saturday as an adult in the death of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk, who was eight months pregnant, Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo said. Houk’s fetus died within minutes due to a lack of oxygen, Lawrence County Coroner Russell Noga said.

Houk’s family and friends, who gathered at her parents’ house Saturday night, told The Associated Press that there had been past problems with the boy. “He actually told my son that he wanted to do that to her,” said Houk’s brother-in-law, Jason Kraner. “There was an issue with jealousy.”

IF there had been problems with this child before this and he told someone he wanted to do this then how is it that nothing was done to help this child before it got to this point?  Where is the help in this world when you need it.  There are far too many cases like this where there was a problem and no one there with any help.  I just don’t understand!!!!!

I loved Aretha Franklins hat when she sang at the inaugration.  I thought it was just the coolest thing I have ever seen.  I must not be the only one because check this out:

From the moment it appeared at the inauguration, Aretha Franklin’s hat, with its oversize woolen bow bejeweled with Swarovski crystals, has invited commentary. It has its own Facebook page. It has been the subject of YouTube spoofs. Its designer reportedly received 3,000 requests for copies.

But now things are getting serious. The Smithsonian Institution – you know, home of the Mercury capsule and a triceratops – wants the hat. The Queen of Soul’s response: I’m thinking about it.

Is that not the coolest thing you ever heard?  I think so.

It was wonderful to see Jennifer Hudson on the Super Bowl.  She sang wonderful as always.  It’s such a shame about her family being killed like they were.  Especially her nephew.  I know that no matter where her family is, they are with her always.  I bet she knows that too.

I just don’t understand how some people can be so cruel as to kill a child much less an adult but there sure a lot of them out there.  You would think with all of the money Jennifer has, he would have at least held the boy for some money instead of killing him.  The whole thing was a great tragedy but Jennifer seems to be a strong person and she will get through it I hope.
