Mom is having a hard time finding seeds and plants for the garden. She got 3 tomato plants and 2 cucumber plants. She did find a pack of squash seeds. She said that if we put the ones we don’t use this year in the freezer, they’ll still be good for next year. I hope so. She planted 2 rows of green beans. We should have plenty of them. She wanted some egg plant plants but she can’t find any of the Black Beauty type. All they had was some kind of long skinny egg plant from Japan or somewhere like that.
Oh well, hopefully we’ll find more plants or seeds. Mom always home cans anything she gets from friends or family when they give us fresh vegetables. It really makes a difference in our food bill too. Have you seen how high everything has gotten at the grocery store? That’s one thing you have to have is food and it’s getting hard to feed the three of us very cheap. Christian will bring pizza’s for everyone sometimes and that’s a treat for us because we don’t order out much. I told you he was a sweetie!

family, life, money
Mom knows that Daddy will pay the child support for awhile and then quit just like he always does. The money has really come in handy because Mom was barely making it as it was before the checks started coming in. In fact, I think she has maxed out three credit cards just trying to make ends meet since she’s on disability now. She did a google search for debt consolidation sites. She came up with a long list of them too. She’s been checking them all out to decide which one she thinks would work best for her. I know that would help ease her mind some too. One payment that’s a lot smaller than what the minimum payment is on everything sounds like a great idea to me.
All of a sudden, out of nowhere comes a child support check every week for the past three weeks. Maybe my Daddy suddenly developed a conscious after all. I bet Grandpa got on his rear end and that’s why he’s paying for now. Either that or he was about to have to go to court over the child support. Who knows and who cares because I sure don’t. I’m just glad that Mom is finally getting what she should have been getting for the past 4 or 5 years now I believe it is.
Too many ‘boys’ are making babies and walking away from them like they hold no responsibility what-so-ever. Notice I didn’t call them ‘Men’ because it takes a Man to take care of his children even if he’s divorced from their mother or never married her. That doesn’t matter. The children matter or should. We’ll see how long it lasts. He’ll come up with some sort of reason why he can’t pay again just like he always does.

life, money, opinion
It’s hard to find a designer handbag that won’t cost you a total fortune but if you’re looking for great coach purses, this is the place to look. They have some of the cutest purses I have seen in a long time. I really thought they would cost much more than they do too.
My mother went to her doctor today and told him that she just can’t afford all of the medications he has given her. Two of them were $50 a month and one was $30 a month. The others were between $4 and $10 a month but with all she has to take, that comes up to close to $200 a month in prescriptions alone.
Her insurance company sent her a new book of ‘preferred medications’ and her doctor checked to see what he could change to the cheaper medications. One of them that is $50 a month they just can’t do anything about but the rest of them ended up costing her $110 for 5 prescriptions. She was shocked and asked why it was so high. Well her doctor wrote them for 3 months at a time which also lowered the cost.
Why don’t doctors automatically do that to begin with? Do they get a kick back for prescribing the higher costing medications or what? She has a great doctor and in fact, he gave her some samples, about 25 of the $50 a month medications and told her that they get enough of the blood pressure medications in samples that they can give her enough so she doesn’t have to pay for them. At least he came through when she really needed help.
