Just about every year that I have watched Dancing with the Stars, whoever does the best in the freestyle dance usually wins.  If that’s the case this season………………Shawn will win.  She nailed the freestyle.  Mark created the perfect routine to showcase the dance ability she has and also her personality and ability as a gymnast.  They were fantastic.  I’ll check on youtube and see if it’s on there yet and add it at the end of this post.

Cheryl and Gilles blew it.  Cheryl knows what it takes to win this competition.  After all, she has won it 3 times and why she chose that dance to the music from Flashdance is beyond me.  She needed to show off more of Gilles ability than she did.  The judges didn’t like it either.

Then Tony and Melissa really blew it.  Tony has been on long enough to know that hip-hop never goes over well with the judges.  It was more like a cheer-leading routine than a freestyle dance.  I can’t wait for tonight to see who takes home the mirror ball trophy.  I think it’s ugly but I would love to have one myself.  The only problem is I’m not a star.  Oh I found it!!!!  Enjoy!!!!

Can you believe that Lil Kim got voted off of Dancing with the stars???  I was in shock just like the judges, Lil Kim and even Ty.  I think he figured he would be the one to be sent home just like everyone else did.  That just goes to show how important the viewer votes are.  I bet people thought Lil Kim was a shoe in and didn’t vote like they should have.

Ty must have a lot of cowboy friends.   But you know what?  He really has improved the most of any of the dancers there.  I mean, this is a cowboy.  He rides bulls and horses and throws ropes and I think they said he was the all around world champion cowboy for 7 or 8 years in a row.  That’s amazing but about as far from ballroom dancing as you can get, ya know.  I loved it when he made that comment that the judge in the middle………..darn I can’t remember his name……….Lynn, that’s it, anyway, Ty said “I’d like to see him try to do what I do if he thinks I need to go home.”  I think that was the night that Lynn Goodman said it was time for him to go home and he made the cut anyway.  Who’s going to win…………your guess is as good as mine.

Mom is having a hard time finding seeds and plants for the garden.  She got 3 tomato plants and 2 cucumber plants.  She did find a pack of squash seeds.  She said that if we put the ones we don’t use this year in the freezer, they’ll still be good for next year.  I hope so.  She planted 2 rows of green beans.  We should have plenty of them.  She wanted some egg plant plants but she can’t find any of the Black Beauty type.  All they had was some kind of long skinny egg plant from Japan or somewhere like that.

Oh well, hopefully we’ll find more plants or seeds.  Mom always home cans anything she gets from friends or family when they give us fresh vegetables.  It really makes a difference in our food bill too.  Have you seen how high everything has gotten at the grocery store?  That’s one thing you have to have is food and it’s getting hard to feed the three of us very cheap.  Christian will bring pizza’s for everyone sometimes and that’s a treat for us because we don’t order out much.  I told you he was a sweetie!

I know I haven’t talked much about Christian but we are still seeing each other.  He’s such a wonderful person.  He does things around here that he knows Mom can’t do like mowing the yard and weed eating.  He even brought over a tiller he borrowed from a friend and tilled up a garden for us.  He worked on that all last weekend and just about every evening this week.

My sister, brother and I built a scarecrow for the garden too.  Christian put the wooden pieces together and we got some of Mom’s old pants and an old flannel shirt she had for the clothes.  We put a pillow case stuffed with old rags and drew a face on him and attached that to the top.  Then the final touch was an old Halloween wig we had around here and a straw hat.  He looks more like a biker than a farmer but hopefully it will keep the critters out of the garden.

Mom has gone out now to find seeds and plants and we’re going to plant the garden and then Christian and I are going to go for a ride on his bike.  Sounds like just what I need too.

Mom, my sister and I don’t miss Dancing with the stars.  My brother goes into his room because he doesn’t want to watch that girly stuff as he calls it.  I think it’s funny because he has no idea just how athletic these guys have to be to be able to do all of those lifts.  Oh well, to each his own.

Boy has this been a tough year to figure out who’s next to be off of the show or what.  It was easy in the beginning because some of them couldn’t dance if their lives depended on it but that’s okay.  Not everyone can dance.  I tell you who is blowing me away and that’s the cowboy, Ty.  He is really doing great but I bet he’ll be the one that gets eliminated next because the others are so much better.  Lil Kim can shake her booty can’t she.  Shawn is great, Melissa is doing really good too, but Gilles……………….he’s hot.  Mom even said so and I was totally shocked because I have never heard her say anything like that before.
